Getting married in Montreux

Every so often we like to share some details of an unusual project to show what we get up to away from the day-to-day trips, and in September we enjoyed a couple of weeks out on the edge of the fabulous Lake Geneva in Switzerland. Three 45ft trailers full of wedding tech, drape, set, stage, rigging, and catering went out to the iconic Fairmont Montreux Palace Hotel for a high profile wedding which included five full days of celebrations for the guests, while our drivers worked tirelessly to support the onsite event team. Our sister company Entertec supplied the site-wide audio solution too, and despite the gruelling hours, there was still time for a quick dip in the lake before checking everything on the Carnet back onto the trucks at the end!

A winter visit to Malta

Malta Dec 2016

While everyone else planned festive events back on home turf, Mark took one of our ever-popular 12T rigids out to Malta for a three day conference in the iconic Corinthia Hotel. Regular clients Chameleon were delighted with driver Mark’s assistance on site, and not a little envious when his hotel room turned out to be more luxurious than most of the delegates! To discuss how we can deliver your event requirements globally, with friendly faces on hand to aid you every step of the way – give us a call or drop us a line any time.

Turnkey Touring Solutions

JD Tour Dec 2016Jason Donovan hit the road once again for a string of UK winter dates, providing a 45ft trailer full of production to touring PM TLC Music. Our event production arm Entertec supplied the complete PA and lighting inventory, and veteran driver Micky “Pies” Byrne took the wheel once more, delivering the “Ten Good Reasons & Greatest Hits” tour to eight venues in ten days . Another prime example of being able to provide a complete turnkey touring solution to our customers – this time a dry hire production package with articulated transport… with great service and attentiveness included as standard.

Exhibition logistics in Dusseldorf

Valve expoEarly December saw Paul in Dusseldorf heading up the logistics solution for Rotork’s exhibition stand at the Valve World Expo 2016. Five trailers and two rigid’s worth of materials made it out to site safe and sound, working to a tight schedule getting on and off site within the build plan. A week later… it was all done and back in the UK again. We pride ourselves for attention to detail, so if you have a complex logistics requirement for your exhibition build, need assistance to manage getting your own trailers to site, or a complete turnkey transport solution – don’t hesitate to get in touch.

Rolling into 2016

Three days into the New Year, and we’re already flat out. With vehicles in Munich, Paris, Amsterdam and Helsinki, the competition was fierce to capture the lowest temperature… Unsurprisingly, Helsinki won the battle with -21 degrees, and Robin was glad for his snow boots! Back in the UK, regulars DCLX filled a trailer bound for the NEC, we sent a four truck job into Hilton Park Lane’s notoriously low loading bay, and plentiful other valued customers came back to us once again to get their New Year gear from A to B. In fleet news – honouring our ongoing investment plan to run one of the cleanest and greenest fleets in the industry, we’ve got another 18T rigid on the way, another 12T, and plans for another 7.5T too – safe to say that January 2016 has been our busiest ever. Keep on truckin’, and check back soon for more news and pics of where we’ve been…

Summer on the road

Summer at JTHQ is spent managing a mixture of festival and exhibition contracts… Usually in the rain! However, 2015 saw us four-strong out in the Köln sun for Gamescom, three trucks at GAME Expo in Coventry, two up to Harrogate International Centre, and a few visits to BBC Glasgow… With only a hint of occasional dampness to grumble about. Also trundling around the continent enjoying the sunshine – one of our trademark “kebab” LoLoader vans spent July and August transporting backline throughout Europe for Joan Baez.

Exhibition Project Management abroad? You got it!

JT EventTruck were commissioned to transport a complex exhibition build for a global airline company out to three venues in Italy, including a dedicated on-site support crew. In order to access the venues, a combination of two 18T rigids and one 3.5T van were dispatched from JTHQ for three weeks in May. All vehicles supplied included working tech-savvy drivers, who assisted with the load in and build days. JT EventTruck then supplied another two site crew to assist running the events themselves, and liaise with the end customer to ensure all snags and finishing touches associated with the stand build were taken care of. The project completed successfully, and conversations are already underway for another visit out to Spain later this year involving two trucks and a much larger team of eight crew… On our next outing we’ll endeavour to get some pictures, to show off how versatile the JT EventTruck driver team can be with a screwdriver and an air compressor!
